Manager urges others to follow own fashion star

The mellow ambience of the Sake Lounge (the after-hours hotspot attached to Sang’s Cafe) is mildly shaken by the va-va-voom beauty of fashionista Lindsey Edwards. In a room of people garbed in black, the unassuming bar manager often finds herself strutting her stuff in a hot pink number. Edwards packs big-city flare in a compact frame with sparkly stilettos and attention-grabbing prints.

My favorite designers and brands include Gucci (timeless logo), Dior (very girly), Chanel (classic), Chip & Pepper (best jeans ever), bebe (sophisticated but sexy) and Betsey Johnson (funky and fun).

I love shopping with my girlfriends after Sunday brunch and numerous mimosas! It’s more of a social event than shopping.

Fashion advice I’d give my best friend Wear what you feel comfortable in, and dress to exemplify your personality and flatter YOUR body type. Feel sexy in a T-shirt and jeans because you are.

One of my most recent purchases was a black pin-striped tuxedo suit. I love wearing suits with sexy pumps.

My big fashion influences are… I look to the classic fashion icons. Today’s celebrities tend to wear what’s trendy at the minute. There is a huge difference between trend and fashion.

I’ll never throw out my… Gucci pumps! They will never go out of style, and one day my daughter will be the coolest kid in school with vintage Gucci.

My best fashion steal to date old-school red and white Adidas running shoes. I found them in Dallas at a resale shop for $10. They are extremely cute.

I can never own too many… headbands. I wear them to work out, to work with hair pulled back in a low ponytail and out on the town with skirts and button-ups for a classy look.

When I shop for clothes I rarely try them on! I know my size and what will look good on my body. My boyfriend really appreciates this method of grab and go.

When I’m at home, I love to wear silk pj’s. My favorite are by Betsey Johnson.

I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing… Although there is a time and place that every item in fashion could “work,” I never would flash back to the ’80s and wear layered scrunch socks (again).

The craziest fashion item I ever bought was a… Chanel J12 watch with a baby pink gator band! At one point my wardrobe was 90 percent pink — no exaggeration.

The worst fashion advice I ever received “If it’s expensive, then it is fashionable” — completely NOT true! No matter the price tag, the fashion statement is made by the individual.

My best-kept fashion secret Buy a few higher end staple pieces and budget on the rest of your clothes. Trends come and go, so spend money on items that are timeless, such as a Chanel bag.

My biggest fashion pet peeve when ladies spend money on fake designer bags and they look cheesy.

I can’t wait to wear my bathing suits again! I live in a bikini all summer.
